The Quran text is verified, not typed
Every ayah in Durra Kids is imported programmatically from the Tanzil Uthmani text, the same source scholars and Quran apps worldwide rely on. An automated check runs on every single update and blocks the release if even one character differs from the source.

Recordings are for feedback, not collection
When your child recites, the audio is sent securely for transcription so we can show which words matched, and the replay stays on your device. We do not build voice profiles and we do not sell or share audio.

No ads, no feeds, no strangers
There is nothing social in Durra Kids. No chat, no comments, no content from other users. Your child practises, earns stars, and that is the whole app.

The 'Listen' button plays established, widely-used recitation recordings, so the model your child copies is a correct one.

A note on tajweed
Durra Kids checks that the right words were recited. It does not yet grade tajweed (pronunciation rules), and we will not pretend to until qualified reciters have validated that feedback. For tajweed, your child's teacher remains the authority.
After practice
- *Let your child listen once before reciting, so the qari remains the model.
- *Celebrate effort first, then choose one missed word to repeat together.
- *Stop while practice still feels calm, especially when the same word is getting tense.
- *Begin tomorrow with the word that felt hardest today, before adding anything new.
- *Share the surah and ayah with their teacher when a pattern keeps repeating.
- *Ask your child to point at the exact word that felt hard, so the next attempt has one calm target.
- *Save one teacher question when a mistake repeats, instead of turning home practice into a correction lesson.
- *Keep home practice to one repeat target when your child is tired, then let the teacher handle deeper correction.
- *End by naming what went well, so tomorrow starts with confidence before the harder word returns.
- *If the same word is missed twice, stop adding new practice and keep one calm repeat for tomorrow.
Teachers can also open a class code, so families can share progress without turning practice into a public feed.
